Portfolio – Hedge End
Having renovated other rooms in their house, Mr and Mrs W’s last room to tackle was their kitchen. As they were in the area they decided to call in and pick up a brochure from Kitchen Living. Instead of a brochure they had a long consultation with designer, Jeff and booked an appointment for a home measure!
Mrs W had a fair idea of what she wanted for her new kitchen. Better use of space was required and as the baker and cook, the layout needed to be practical – not a ‘showroom.’ Design wise she was looking for traditional style doors and granite worktops. She also requested a tap supplying boiling and sparkling water.
The floor in the hall and downstairs toilet had to be raised slightly, temporarily removing the toilet and sink which did cause some upheaval. To make this as easy as possible, a schedule was provided and the customer knew what to expect and when. At the end of the project there was also a delay with the delivery of bar stools, initially leaving the customer with a lovely kitchen but no place to sit down! It was then arranged for the suppliers to send temporary bar stools until the ones the customer wanted were available.
Mrs W now has a Wentworth style White American Oak kitchen with granite worktops and tiled flooring with underfloor heating. Her new appliances include a pyrolytic NEFF hide and slide oven and an induction hob. There is also now a breakfast bar area attached to the worktops rather than a separate table which means there is much more space.
WHAT THE CLIENT SAID
Jeff was on our wavelength straight away and understood what we wanted. It was great to work with someone who is so passionate about what they do. He helped us make the right choices and we were never made to feel that any of our questions were stupid ones.
