Kitchen Trends For 2024

We firmly believe in designing kitchens that suit your taste and lifestyle, creating beautiful kitchens that you’ll love as trends come and go. However, we still like to keep our eye on new ideas and as we step into the new year, what better time to do so? In 2024, we’re looking at a blend of innovation, sustainability, and mixing aesthetics that have been flourishing over the last few years.

Opulent Jewel Tones

Continuing with the nation’s love of gorgeous green tones and those dreamy deep sapphire blues, we’re now seeing more warm varieties. Burgundy is really having a moment bringing a sense of drama and regality to your kitchen. Pair with contrasting textures like matte finishes, natural stone, and aged brass for an elegant and warm finish. We have our eye on this trend for our next showroom update, what do you think?

Mixed Materials

We’ve really seen a rise in the use of more varied materials over the last few years from shiny brasses to sleek gunmetal, decorative reeded finishes, and beautiful wooden grains. This year we’ll be combining more finishes to create a visually dynamic and sophisticated look. Whether your style is minimalistic, modern, or traditional, this is a trend you can embrace.

We love how our clients wanted to layer matt white doors with oak finish framing in this project, adding warmth to a modern look. The black handleless rail with black metal frame glass cabinets adds a stunning achitectural finish.

Sustainable Design

Sustainability in design is something we have been talking about for a while now but, it doesn’t make it any less important. In fact, this year we are leaning even more towards eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient appliances. From recycled countertops to energy-saving lighting, we’ve seen homeowners making conscious choices to reduce their environmental footprint. We not only look to new technologies to help but think that making simple, sensible choices can make a huge impact. For us, it’s a no-brainer, our British-made kitchens are at the core of our values with great quality and all local!

Multi-Functional Islands

As homes become more versatile, so do our kitchens. The trend of multi-functional spaces continues to grow, with kitchen islands serving as both cooking and dining areas. Designs that seamlessly integrate workspaces, storage, and dining create a more efficient and flexible environment for modern living. We foresee more interesting and elaborate shapes for kitchen islands moving forward! A great tip for this trend is to lean into mixed materials here, using different materials to layer levels for seating and storage can create a real wow factor.

Smarter Storage Solutions

Innovative storage solutions are integral to modern kitchen designs. From pull-out pantry shelves to hidden compartments and built-in organizers, maximizing storage space is everyone’s priority. This is undoubtedly becoming more important as we look to create more clutter-free worktops. With this in mind, we see 2024 being the year for appliance cabinets. It is a functional way to keep everything to hand but neatly out of sight.

Open Shelving and Glass Cabinetry

As we look to create more breathable spaces in our homes, open shelving, and glass-fronted cabinets are really making a comeback in 2024. Providing a sense of openness but also offering an opportunity to showcase stylish dishware and kitchen essentials. This trend encourages organization and can make even the simplest kitchen items a part of the decor. We know that open shelves are loved or hated, due to the dreaded dusting, so could a glazed cabinet be your happy middle ground?

There are endless other trends we could explore from kitchen trees (yes you read that right) to colour blocking, black worktops, colourful taps, and the big question, is pistachio green the new sage green? But really, we want to know what will make the kitchen of your dreams.
